NORDAN COMPOSITES

Nordan Composites started back in the late 1980s as a spin-off of Nordan Racing a private Indy Car team put together to run the American Indy Car series. In the nineteen eighties Indy Cars were following the technology of Formula one by introducing Carbon composites to race car manufacturing. In those days Carbon composites were a black art, privy only to the defense industry. Being based in Long Island MacArthur Airport, Nordan had access to the engineering talent from local aerospace companies like Grumman Aerospace and Fairchild. In the late eighties there were no private Composite shops, so all development and repairs on the car had to be done in house. Being on an airport word got out of our existence which led to composite repairs to local corporate jet repair stations. This in turn followed to the major airlines. To keep up with demand, Nordan expanded its facility while also hiring and training many new employees.

Nordan Composite Technologies holds an ISO 9001 2015 certification for quality assurance. Other accreditations include Composites fabrication and certified training from Cert-Tech, a NASA recognized affiliation. We currently have three locations Plainview, Patchogue and our newest in Rocky Point, NY. Our third location will be the future home for Nordan as we would like to keep everything in one location for a more efficiency. Rocky Point is currently under complete renovation and expansion.

QUALITY

Besides our ISO Quality Management System, we control part dimension using CMM and 3D scanning.  We are currently working on our certification for NDI inspection (non-destructive testing)
